COMPOSER AND ARRANGER

Totally self-taught in this matter, I came quite late to composition, my most spontaneous musical practice being improvisation. First I felt the need to write music tunes I had in mind, on which I liked to improvise. As such, a good part of my catalogue consists of jazz themes, i.e. harmonized melodies designed as improvisation springboards.

Playing in bands lead me first to write arrangements for small combos (duos, trios, quartets, quintets). In 1985, following my award in an international jazz competition, I was offered to compose for a radio big-band ; I wrote and arranged four compositions for a total duration of nearly 40 min. Since this time, I had several opportunities to write contemporary music for classical music instruments, as solo piano, harpsichord, solo flute, voice and piano, guitar and harpsichord, flute and tuba, flute trios, a cappella choirs... Most of these scores are available for downloading on my IMSLP page. In the future I would like to write more music in a variety of contexts.

Hereafter I present my catalogue of compositions (most of them being registered at SACEM, of which I have been a member for more than 30 years). I am keen to be contacted by musicians, either professional or amateurs, who make me the honor and the friendship of playing my music.
